About the school: Catering for young people between the ages of 11-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH) as well as other difficulties such as ADHD and Autism. We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join our team and make a real difference in students' lives.
The school is based closed to Poole, in Lytchett Minster.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with emotional, social, and mental health challenges.
- Work closely with teachers and mental health professionals to create a positive learning environment.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students experiencing difficulties.
- Help implement personalised support plans for students.
- Promote positive mental health strategies within the school.
- Assist in creating a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
- Monitor and report student progress and any concerns to relevant staff members.
Requirements:
- Experience in working with children or young people, especially those with mental health challenges.
- A genuine passion for supporting mental health and well-being.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and supportive in challenging situations.
- A willingness to work as part of a team and adapt to the needs of the students.
- Any relevant qualifications or training in mental health, psychology, or SEN (Special Educational Needs) would be advantageous.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
