Job Duties:
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring to students in mathematics
- Develop individualised lesson plans based on students' needs and abilities
- Assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Assist students in understanding mathematical concepts and solving problems
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and teachers regarding progress and challenges
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Maths Tutor or similar role
- Strong knowledge of mathematics curriculum and teaching methods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
Education:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or related field
Experience:
Prior experience in tutoring or teaching mathematics
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and experience working with students with SEN
- Ability to create engaging and interactive learning experiences
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Organisational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Postgraduate qualification in Education or relevant field
- Experience using technology in teaching, such as online resources and educational software
Working Conditions:
The Maths Tutor position is a temporary role based in South East England, Berkshire, Wokingham. The tutor is expected to work part-time hours, providing tutoring services to students in need of mathematics support. The role may involve working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and adapting teaching methods to meet their individual requirements.
