  1. To undertake the daily operational responsibility to ensure that all sites runsmoothly, in direct relation to all Facilities services including external areas,grounds and gardens, housekeeping, portering, and catering services, wastemanagement, security, fire safety, H&S signage, cleanliness including externalareas such as grounds and gardens and general operational maintenanceacross all sites.2. To be responsible for the co-ordination, planning and provision of efficient andeffective services for patients, ensuring compliance with all current statutoryrequirements3. To be the first point of contact for both clinical and non-clinical services withregard to ensuring that usage of the site, including storage space is providedin an equitable and effective manner and any unwanted items are disposed ofin the appropriate manner and to monitor this on a regular basis To manage relevant external contractors to ensure an effective value formoney service.5. To look for ways to improve current services and contracts in the best interestof the Trust.6. To work with external contractors and consultants to develop, implement andreview effective systems of work within the site.7. To manage and ensure that all security systems and procedures are effectiveand known throughout all of the site. Work with NHS SMS to ensure the Sitecomplies with SMS Directives and H&S legislation. Where necessary todevelop/enhance security systems to ensure the safety of Service-users,Carers, staff and visitors to the site. To further develop existing internalcommunication channels to achieve this.8. To be responsible for all internal and external contractual arrangements; toinclude being the main source of communication, coordinating, monitoring tominimise disruption. This will include external suppliers and theirrepresentatives.9. To be responsible for the management of all non-clinical complaints withinTrust guidelines and to look for and implement corrective actions and / orproblem solving techniques to reduce reoccurrences, as appropriate.10. To be fully aware and trained in the latest Health and Safety requirements inconnection with managing an NHS site. To use this knowledge in everydayissues that arise as appropriate and when necessary and through routinematters, utilising expertise from Fire Safety Service, health and Safety Serviceand / or Estates Officers. To facilitate the equitable use of space and the allocation of any availableaccommodation, where appropriate consulting with users and wherenecessary operating as an independent arbitrator. To ensure all MCTDirectorates receive an equitable Facilities Management service within thesite. To liaise with all Local Division and Corporate Service Managers to deliveran equitable service.12. To work collaboratively with the Facilities Management Team on thedevelopment of services.13. To operate an affective system of reporting and monitoring both incidentals,emergency and planned maintenance requirements to include monitoring anyother SLAs in place.14. To manage multi-departmental budgets, to deliver a balanced budget, andgenerally to ensure that all financial actions accord with the Trusts SFIs andguidelines.
