We have a vacancy for a Design Technology and Media Technician to join our team at The Beacon School.

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Design Technology and Media Technician to join our team at the Beacon School. In this role, you will provide essential support in a busy and dynamic department, helping students progress and succeed in their practical projects.What we are looking forAdaptability, resilience and being able to think on your feet are essential in this varied roleExperience in a workshop or similar environment, ideally within an education setting.Strong practical skills in areas such as carpentry, metalwork, electronics, or CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing).

Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to working in a school workshop environment.Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.A proactive and organised individual with good problem-solving skills.
Willingness to develop new skills and adapt to new technologies.
You should be patient and calm, with a consistent and positive approach to managing student behaviour, and understand how students learn
You should be a flexible team player with an interest in developing further professionally

Start date: As soon as possibleContract type: Permanent
Pay Scale: GLF Associate 2
Working pattern: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only plus one week (40 weeks per annum)Annual Salary: £21,544 - £23,582 (FTE)
Actual Salary: £19,009.41 - £20,807.64 (based on hours and weeks of work)
