The Vascular Care Coordinator will provide a comprehensive administrative service to support patient pathways and cover multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) to ensure the effective management of accurate and timely data to enable clinical decision-making at MDT meetings when required.
The post-holder will coordinate, proactively manage and track patients from and to Bradford NHS Foundation Trust from Airedale NHS Trust and Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust, ensuring IPTs are completed and sent to the respective Hospital.They will escalate problems to the management team in a timely manner so that remedial action can be taken where necessary to ensure the 18 week RTT targets are met.
Main duties of the job
The role will involve scheduling of patients, maintaining an accurate and up to date view of the vascular virtual ward, working collaboratively with radiology, theatre management team and secretarial staff to maximise efficiency in the patient's vascular pathway.

Person specification
Experience
Essential criteria- Previous Medical Secretarial Experience
- Experience in developing and implementing administrative systems, processes and procedures
- Line Management/supervisory experience including recruitment, appraisal, etc
Skills
Essential criteria- Literacy and Numeracy skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent people management skills
- Ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task
Knowledge
Essential criteria- Sound knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office packages, including Excel and Power-point, internet, e-mail etc…
- Knowledge of Patient Administration System (or equivalent system)
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality.
Qualifications
Essential criteria- Educated to GCSE standard*
- Vocational qualification level 3 or equivalent
- An appropriate speed and accuracy of typing is required for this role and this will be assessed at interview
- Medical Secretary Diploma
- Advanced secretarial qualifications
