Join our industry-leading Civil Engineering team as a Civil Engineer, where you will be at the forefront of shaping Thames Water's future in AMP8 and beyond. Your role will be pivotal in analysing and solving engineering problems, creating designs, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Working closely with senior engineers, you will develop concepts and outline designs for various infrastructure projects, primarily for the wastewater team. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a sustainable engineering structure that is making a significant impact.

What you’ll be doing as a Civil Engineer

This exciting opportunity is in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and the day-to-day duties include:

  • Evaluating root causes of problems in our wastewater network.
  • Undertaking site visits.
  • Ensuring that safe, sustainable solutions & designs are developed.
  • Preparing calculations, designs, study reports, specifications, drawings, and H&S documentation.
  • Liaising with other engineering disciplines to ensure that the civil engineering design caters to their needs.
  • Provide civil engineering input into asset surveys and plant condition assessments, feasibility studies,whole-life costing, and preliminary designs.

Hybrid – Clearwater Court, you will be required in the office and on-site 2-3 days a week and as the business requires.

36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

What you should bring to the role
  • Be educated to degree level or other appropriate technical qualification in Civil Engineering.
  • Some post-qualification experience as a civil engineer designing drainage networks, pump stations and pipelines.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment to achieve compliance with our Engineering regulatory requirements.
  • Possess the ability to use your initiative and undertake tasks efficiently and objectively.
  • Have excellent communication and influencing skills to engage with our colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Deliver exceptional service through a passionate and positive approach, taking accountability for your role while working accurately and flexibly within a busy team.

  • Competitive salary from £40,000 to £50,000 per annum.
  • 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)
