• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements for vehicle operation in accordance with the company's Operators Licence.
• Act as the O Licence holder for secondary transport, ensuring full compliance with all statutory requirements, including vehicle maintenance and driver records.
• Develop effective distribution fleet procedures and standards in line with group guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Manage the day-to-day fleet maintenance programme in accordance with the company's O Licence.
• Ensure that Fleet Maintenance data is accurate and reflects the status of the vehicles.
• Manage repair and maintenance contractors to ensure legal compliance and regularly audit their performance.
• Develop and manage a KPI process to proactively manage fleet performance.
• Conduct regular fleet audits on contractor vehicles to ensure compliance with group guidelines.
• Build relationships with recovery agencies and emergency response teams to act in the best interests of the company.
• Oversee the repair and maintenance programme, including logging work done and processing timely invoicing.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• In-depth knowledge of issues involved in managing a transport fleet, both in-house and contracted.
• Technical knowledge of processes and systems associated with LPG distribution.
• Certificate of Professional Competence in road transport.
• Membership of a relevant transport professional body (optional but should be working towards).
• Holder of Class 2 minimum LGV licence required; ADR qualification preferred.
