Job Description
The Financial Controller will have a wide range of duties including:
- Provide leadership to the small finance team
- Ensure all financial transactions, systems and procedures comply with regulations, accounting standards and best practice
- Oversee the production of monthly management accounts
- Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors
- Develop and manage budgets across the organisation
- Produce financial reports and statements for senior management and the board
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems
- Participate in strategic planning and decision-making at the management level
The Successful Applicant
A successful 'Financial Controller' should have:
- A professional qualification in accountancy (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and standards
- Proven leadership skills within a finance team
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector is desirable
- Knowledge of charity accounting
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A competitive salary in the range of £50,000 - £60,000
