Job Overview This role is all about leading a team that helps improve how care is provided to patients and communities in our region. Were part of a larger network that works together to make sure everyone gets the best care possible. Our team focuses on making long-term plans, checking how well were doing, and helping local health systems do their best work.
What Youll Do As the Director of Improvement, Transformation, and Partnerships, youll be a key part of our regional leadership team. Youll work closely with the Regional Director to build strong partnerships with local health providers and systems.
Your goal is to help these systems become more independent and effective over time. Youll lead the Improvement, Transformation, and Partnerships team. Your team will develop solid plans, check performance, and drive continuous improvements in the quality of care and health outcomes.
Youll also step in to help when providers or systems are struggling. Youll also help shape national priorities and decide what kind of support local systems need. Youll work closely with our corporate teams to do this. And when needed, youll step in for the Regional Director.
Team Management Youll manage the Improvement, Transformation, and Partnership Team. Youll make sure that our national guidelines for performance, improvement, partnerships, and oversight are applied consistently and effectively throughout the region.
This will involve: Building strong relationships with other regional functions. Supporting other Directors to ensure that our interventions are aligned and coordinated. Building close working relationships with the regional Commissioning and Finance functions to ensure an aligned approach to performance, oversight, and intervention.
General Responsibilities Youll build strong relationships with senior colleagues across all NHSE functions. Youll make sure that were all working together effectively and looking for ways to improve. Youll also make sure that we have good governance in place, including identifying risks and taking action to mitigate them.
Youll contribute to the development and delivery of NHSEs joint corporate business plan and the strategic work programme of the NHS Executive Group. Youll act as an ambassador for NHSE, representing our objectives and views to stakeholders. Youll be part of the regional on-call rota and may be required to step in for the Regional Director.
Key Relationships Youll work with a range of people both inside and outside the organisation, including System Leaders, provider Chief Executives, Councillors, the Department of Health and Social Care, and other national bodies such as the Care Quality Commission and Health Education England.

Staff Management Youll be responsible for managing a large team with a wide range of skills. Youll have direct line management responsibilities and may also work with national colleagues in a matrix structure. Budget Management Youll manage a significant budget, making sure we use our resources effectively across the health service.
