An exciting opportunity has arisen due to the (very) recent appointment of the current postholder to an external Senior Leadership role we are seeking an inspirational and visionary leader for our prestigious XL Academy – a flagship programme designed to nurture high-achieving students as they prepare for success at top universities and in competitive careers.

As Head of XL Academy, you'll be the driving force behind a vibrant and elite enrichment programme. You'll lead, develop, and deliver:

  • Tailored pathways including Oxbridge, Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science (MDV), Natural Sciences and more
  • Inspiring guest speakers, enrichment trips, and alumni sessions
  • A bespoke tutorial and early applicant programme
  • A strategic vision to promote high achievement and ambition across the college
  • Outreach in the local borough meeting Headteachers, delivering assemblies and attending careers fairs

You'll also manage a team of dedicated staff, oversee the work of the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) Coordinator and Oxbridge Scholars Coordinator, and champion stretch and challenge in every classroom.

You will need to be:

  • A passionate educator with a strong track record of outstanding teaching and leadership
  • An expert in supporting high-achieving learners and delivering academic excellence
  • Someone who thrives on strategic thinking, data analysis, and innovation
  • A confident communicator ready to lead staff development, engage parents, and represent XL at outreach events and across social media
