Complex Community Support Worker

We are proud to announce that New Direction Support is currently expanding and are looking to recruit a complex Support Worker to join our expanding organisation. Contract is 24 hours.

Here at New Direction Support we provide support and care services for a wide range of individuals with additional needs and as a support worker you will be at the forefront of our highly professional services

The role of a complex support worker requires supporting individuals with varying levels of challenging behaviours which will be safely managed by a multiple staff to client ratio. (This will be evaluated during the application process)

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will:

• Support people with a variety of learning disabilities / Autism / Mental Health
• Support people to access the community and any employment opportunities
• Support and follow Positive Behavioural Support Plans
• Support people within their own homes to maintain their tenancies & pay bills

• Robust and confident to deal with challenging situations
• Caring and compassionate approach
• Patient and understanding
• Motivated to follow systems to support a positive approach
• Be flexible to meet the needs of the people we support
• Good communication skills
• Ability to follow polices & procedures

• Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities

• Element of weekend work will be required
• Minimum of 24 hour contract (3 x 8 hour shifts per week)
• Full valid clean UK driving licence (Service User has his own car)
• Shift patterns: 9am to 5pm or 1pm to 9pm

Salary: £12.42 per hour
