ALN Teaching Assistant
At Teaching Personnel, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate teaching assistant to support students on a 1:1, 2:1, and small group basis (up to 5 children) in our special educational needs (SEN) schools. We are looking for a committed, driven, and positive individual who is confident in meeting the needs and expectations of this important role.You will be working with children who have a range of complex needs, including behavioural challenges, ASD, ADHD, trauma, SEMH, and more. Additionally, you will be required to accompany students on off-site activities, which may include sports, outdoor activities, trips, and other events.

Schedule: Monday to Friday (8:30am - 3:30pm)
Key Responsibilities- Safeguarding children
- Work on a 1:1, 2:1 basis and in small groups supporting the individual in and out of the classroom, this includes off-site activities
- Assist in developing and implementing individualised interventions and strategies.
- Monitor pupils behaviour, promote positive behaviour and emotional resilience
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to adapt lesson content and create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Support individual during unstructured times such as lunch and break times.
- Encourage social interaction with other pupils
- Build positive relationships with the individual and other pupils whilst acting as a role model and building trust.
- Minimum of GCSE's in English and Mathematics
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
- Eligibility to work in the UK and ability to pass enhanced DBS checks.
- Driving Licence ( not essential but preferred)
- Previous experience working with complex additional learning needs preferably in an education or care setting
- A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to working with the individual
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
- Positive attitude, excellent work ethic, and a proactive approach to problem solving
- Ability to deal with challenging behaviour and seek support when required
- Commitment and desire get the pupils back to mainstream education
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
