An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Finance Business Partnering team of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

We are looking to appoint 2 Finance Managers to support the Medicine and Integrated Care (MIC) and Surgery & Cancer (SCC) clinical divisions.

Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, the Finance Manager forms a critical part of the divisional Business Partnering team. The role supports a portfolio of directorates, with support from a Band 7 Deputy Finance Manager and a Band 5/6 Management Accountant.

The Finance Manager is the first point of contact for their directorates in delivering month end analysis/reporting, forecasting, supporting business planning, productivity and the efficiency agenda, as well as providing financial advice and options appraisal for proposed investments.

It is a key role which works closely with directorate leadership teams, as well as being a senior member of the finance function, providing support and leadership to colleagues both within the financial management team and across the wider function.

The finance team are valued and respected by operational and clinical colleagues within the Division, and the successful candidates will be able to develop strong relationships which lead to working together to understand and manage the financial challenges facing services.

Main duties of the job

To provide a high quality analytical service to the Business Partnering Team.

To provide assurance to the Finance Business Partner of the quality of historic, current and forecast financial information through completion of analytical review processes.

To be accountable to the Finance Business Partner for the adherence to Trust financial policies and procedures, statutory requirements and requirements from NHS England.

  • Experience of working within the NHS or similar sized organisation
  • Experience of translating complex data from various systems into a clear and comprehensive financial model
  • Experience of computerised accounting financial systems
  • Experience in accounting e.g. Processing journals
  • Experience of reconciling control accounts
  • Experience in accounting policies e.g. IFRS
  • Business and capacity planning linked to forecasting
  • Advanced experience of using Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Working effectively and efficiently in a fast-changing environment
  • Experience in working with minimal supervision
  • Experience of manging people
  • Experience of implementing change
  • Ability to work with staff at all levels, with specific ability to work with senior teams
