This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and reliable teacher to join a well-established and successful Mathematics team at a highly regarded sixth form college in the Cotswolds. Teachers at Cirencester College enjoy the same number of days’ holiday as teachers in secondary schools.At Cirencester College, we deliver A level Maths, A level Further Maths, Level 3 Core Maths, GCSE Higher and Foundation Maths, and Functional Skills at level 1. Whilst the ideal candidate would have experience of delivering A level Maths & Further Maths, we encourage all teachers keen to focus on teaching 16-18 year olds to apply, including secondary school teachers with no A level teaching experience.
The post holder will be expected to:
- Ensure students understand the content of all mathematical techniques on the syllabus by habitually delivering good lessons
- Mark assessments such as tests, mock exams and homework assignments accurately and in a timely fashion
- Closely monitor students’ progress and alert relevant parties to emerging issues
- Demonstrate excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- Hold a good honours degree (or equivalent) in a related subject
- Hold a PGCE or other level 4 teaching qualification, or demonstrate a commitment to obtain an equivalent qualification on the job
