About the service user
I is a 15 year old transitioning female. I has Global Developmental Delay she wears glasses and has tunnel vision due to an eye condition called Ocular Motor Apraxia. I is doubly incontinent.
I enjoys computers & XBox games she plays online with friends sometimes, she also likes going out for walks, shopping, supervised cooking and watching TikTok videos.
I also enjoys attending Pride Youth Group twice a week.
Hours and rate of PayCasual as and when hours to be used weekends/school holidays 84 hours available @ £12.21 per hour.
Enhanced DBS clearance is essential
What you would be doing
Supporting I to access community activities, working on independence skills such as using money, travelling on public transport and organising/planning outings.
The person I would like
Experience of supporting others with learning disabilities is important for this role as you need to be aware of the daily challenges learning disabilities can bring.
I can display some challenging behaviour which presents verbally, shouting and name calling, she does sometimes lash out usually in frustration. You will need to learn triggers for this behaviour and have strategies in place to manage the behaviour.You will therefore need to be someone who provides clear boundaries communicated in an easy to understand way.
Someone who is willing to be interactive in order to improve and develop skills.
