Home Carer Various hours contracted - Come and have a chat with us
Hourly wage: £12.70 per hour (Mon-Fri)
£14.70 per hour (Weekends)+ enhancements for Bank holidays of minimum time and half.
Travel allowance: 40p per mile (From home to first call and onwards, then back home)
Clear and concise pay scalesWith nothing hidden. For one hour of work – you will be paid our stated hourly rate (dependent on weekdays and weekends)
Plus - all hours worked will accrue holiday time – which will then be available to use as paid holiday.
For every 8 hours of work, you do – you will accrue 1 hour of holiday leave.
Location: We provide care and support calls to clients in the Cheltenham and surrounding villages.Hours available: - Come and speak to us to discuss what you can offer us. We do require as a minimum every other weekend.
What’s actually involved as a Home Carer at Windrush Care?
- Companionship visits
- Assistance with personal care tasks
- Supporting with medication and ensuring our clients are safe with their medication
- Assisting with housework, preparing meals or even walking the dog!
- Helping with errands such as food shopping, posting letters or picking up prescriptions.
- Opportunities to progress with Windrush Care.
- Currently 100% of our senior carers, 66% of our Field Care Supervisors and 80% of our management team were promoted from within.
- Online training (learn at your own speed in the comfort of your sofa)
- Face to face training – Moving and Handling and First Aid
- Specialist training and staff development are key goals for Windrush Care, access to specific training including Dementia, Palliative Care and Parkinson’s etc throughout your employment.
- Opportunity to complete QCF Level 2-5 in Adult Health and Social Care after 6 months of continued employment. (Dependent on role)
- Access to all training certificates after 6 months of continued employment at no cost to you.

- On-call support 7 days a week, 24 hours a day + Supportive office team – open door policy.
