Teaching Assistant
An Ofsted-rated GOOD primary school located in the heart of Cambridge is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their permanent staff team. Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
- Working with individuals or small groups of children to provide targeted support, including children with special educational needs (SEN)
- Assisting in the preparation of classroom materials and resources
- Helping to maintain a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment
- Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
- Supervising pupils during break times and ensuring their well-being
- Attending meetings and training as required
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children, ideally within a primary school setting
- A strong commitment to supporting children's learning and development
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Willingness to undertake further training as necessary
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
- A relevant Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Experience supporting children with SEN
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies
- First aid training (or willingness to complete)
