Responsibilities:
  • Individual and Group Support: Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students with special educational needs, ensuring full curriculum access and participation.
  • Collaborative Planning: Work closely with teachers and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to deliver tailored support strategies.
  • Diverse SEN Support: Assist students with various needs, including autism, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and emotional or behavioural challenges.
  • Inclusive Learning Environment: Contribute to creating a positive and supportive atmosphere where all students feel valued.
  • Intervention Delivery: Implement specific programmes to support students' academic and personal development.
  • Personal Care Assistance: Provide personal care support when required, adhering to school policies.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to student support.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children with SEN in a primary school setting is desirable.
  • Passion for Education: A strong commitment to supporting children's development and well-being.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Personal Qualities: Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards overcoming challenges.
  • Qualifications: A relevant qualification (e.g. , Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or SEN) is desirable but not essential.
  • Professional Development: A willingness to engage in ongoing learning and skill development.
