Position Summary: To support, assist and deputise for the Shift Operations Managers in the running of key areas within the warehouse operation, taking responsibility for the operational running of an area on a shift basis. Making sure all KPI’s are met / exceeded, QA standards / Clean as you go are adhered to whilst adopting a strong health and safety culture.

Co-ordinate the warehouse shift team(s)
  • Co-ordinate and motivate the team to achieve daily output objectives and deliver shift KPIs: -
  • Ensure warehouse is operating to QA standards and AIB/DQMP standards for hygiene and tidiness.
  • Apply a zero tolerance culture to all health and safety issues.
  • Ensure that staff are correctly utilised to achieve the daily operational requirements.
  • Prepare and attend daily 9am operation meeting when covering Shift Operations Managers duties.
  • Challenge in consultation with Shift Operations Managers any employee not achieving company standards.
  • Ensure that the team are trained and competent to carry out tasks assigned to them and develop a multi-skilled workforce.
  • Proactively seek solutions to operational problems and resolve queries as they come about, escalate to shift Senior Warehouse Manager, assistant Operations Manager (Warehouse) and Operations Manager queries that cannot be resolved.
Employee Resource
  • Co-ordinate and control labour usage to achieve budget productivity levels and financial spend in line with Shift Operations Manager expectations.
  • Any reasonable request as directed by Shift Operations and or Assistant Operations Manager(s) or Operations Manager.
Communication
  • To ensure daily briefings to team on daily requirements and to regularly update the team on performance issues:-
  • Meet and greet shift, record attendance, and brief as per MBUK briefing template.
  • Hold daily briefings – providing a format for an open two way form of communication between staff and shift management.
  • Give and receive effective handovers to the oncoming or outgoing shift to ensure operational continuity.
Health and Safety procedures
  • Working closely with the Health & Safety Team, ensuring and promoting compliance with Health & Safety legislation:-
  • Full Health and Safety KPI’s are met.
  • Constantly enforce MBUK clean as you go/QIP/AIB/DQMP policies.

Qualifications:

Technical competencies
  • Previous experience of a leadership role in a similar FMCG operation (Desirable)
  • Effective people management skills (Essential)
  • Experience of WM systems – intermediate (Desirable)
  • Effective performance management skills (Desirable)
