The Ward Clerk is an integral part of the ward team here on OAU (A9). We are looking for someone who is proficient, organized, has good time keeping with excellent people and communication skills . They are required to provide a comprehensive service to patients and perform to a high standard the clerical duties.

A key part of the role will be to work along side our MDT to ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard and in a timely manner. These tasks include (but are not limited to):

Communicating regularly with patient's relatives and loved ones to provide updates as a point of liaison , facilitating the attendance of patients onto the ward, updating the Hive system , answering and responding to phone calls in a professional and timely manner.

Also ordering of relevant paperwork and stationary.

To operate within clearly defined limits of policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines within the department and when necessary improve good working practice.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for candidates who have an excellent telephone and communication skills and are eager to join our Administration team at Wythenshawe.

The position is a busy customer/administration service-based role where no two days can be the same. You will need to work flexibly and apply a methodical approach to a varying workload. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.

You will work alongside the Consultants, Doctors and nurses to ensure our patients receive the best care possible, we are looking for candidates who will bring a positive approach to our working environment.

Successful candidates must have excellent IT skills and experience working in a customer service or healthcare environment as you will be expected to use IT and communication equipment associated with call handling and data input. You should demonstrate high levels of personal commitment to facilitate the delivery of a patient focused service.
