Job overview

We are currently seeking a Sterile Services Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Sterile Services department. This role is essential to ensuring our department runs smoothly, safely, and effectively, providing specialized decontamination services that directly support patient care.

In this position, you will supervise a team of Assistant Technical Officers in Decontamination Services, ensuring the high-quality, safe, and timely delivery of services. Your efforts will contribute to maintaining the highest standards of patient care through rigorous infection control and decontamination processes.

This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact in patient care by leading a team that supports critical decontamination services. You’ll play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of infection control and contribute to a safer environment for both patients and staff.

Person specification

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of quality and safety standards in a Decontamination Services environment
  • Understands the fundamentals of data quality, data protection and the confidential use of patient information
  • Understands concept and management of urgent /priority medical devices & equipment and non-conformance
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of Trust CARE Values

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE qualification of grades of A – C English Language & Maths or equivalent
  • Use of Microsoft Office and PC systems including operation of Window based software
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ level 3 through decontamination training
  • Supervisory qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working within Decontamination Services
  • Use of a tracking information system
Desirable criteria
  • Previous supervisory experience
