About Inclusion Education
Inclusion Education (working name of “Inclusion Hampshire”) supports young people within the local community who have special education (SEN) and mental health needs. It operates an Independent Special School in Basingstoke for young people aged 11-16, a college based in Hook for young people aged 16 and over and a Workplace Support Hub based in Basingstoke supporting those over the age of 18.

Working as a Teacher at Inclusion College you will be part of a close, supportive team working to teach and develop young people who have struggled to access education due to the mental ill health, anxiety and difficulties attending college through empathy, nurture, and patience.We currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, dedicated teacher.
For most students who come into our college, mainstream education has not worked, the environment and approach was not right for them. Often, they need a radical and life-changing approach that prioritises their well-being and progresses their development within an environment that is very different.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver and assess high-quality Maths lessons tailored to the needs of SEND students.
- Develop individualised learning plans and resources to support students' mathematical understanding and proficiency.
- Utilise a variety of teaching methods and strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Assess students' progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching methods accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and achievements.
- Collaborate with other teaching staff, support staff, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEND and Maths education.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and equality.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Contribute to the development and review of the Maths curriculum and resources.
Qualifications and Experience:
- PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) or QTLS (Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills)
- Experience working with SEND students in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of Functional Skills Maths curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students with diverse needs and abilities.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with educational best practices.
Desirable Attributes:
- Specialist SEND qualification or additional training in SEND education.
- Experience using a range of assistive technologies and adaptive teaching methods.
- Proficient in the use of educational technology and digital resources to enhance learning.
- Creative and innovative approach to teaching and learning.
- Experience in delivering Maths qualifications in a further education setting.
