Accounts Admin Assistant

We are a growing and dynamic local accountancy firm looking for an experienced Accounts Administrator to join our team. This is a varied, office-based role that would suit someone with previous experience in an accountancy practice who enjoys working in a client-facing position.
You will be a key point of contact for our clients, supporting them with a range of administrative and accounting tasks while ensuring a high level of service.
Key Responsibilities- Processing and running weekly/monthly payrolls
- Managing new client onboarding, including AML compliance processes
- Acting as the first point of contact for clients (face-to-face, telephone, and email)
- Coordinating and sending document requests to clients, and following up to ensure timely receipt of records and information
- Liaising with HMRC regarding client queries and tax registrations
- Supporting general office administration and assisting the wider team
- Assisting with bookkeeping tasks including VAT and Self-Assessment
- Previous experience in an administrative role within an accountancy practice
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator, comfortable interacting with clients
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Proactive and able to manage workload effectively
- Experience using accounting software such as TaxCalc, Xero, FreeAgent, Brightpay, Moneysoft, QuickBooks and Excel
- Confident processing payrolls
