Role Definition
This exciting role offers an opportunity to provide technical leadership and innovation for our Client with regards to compliance in the context of an ETCS on-board retrofit projectWorking as part of a close-knit team the Compliance Engineer shall be the referent on compliance for the UK specific application of a ETCS On-Board retrofit project
Key Accountabilities- Gather and present evidence that the designs comply with the technical reference documents (standards regulations &hellip ) listed in the Technical Baseline
- Check and challenge the evidence of compliance produced both internally (System Engineering Design Verification &hellip ) and externally (design houses)
- Produce compliance reports
- unfitted vehicle compliance report
- retrofitted vehicle compliance report
- these reports contain the evidence of compliance to be used as input to both the Safety Case the Technical File
- Support approval process to obtain APIS for each train class
- Work directly with the Approval Manager the Validation Manager the assessors (NoBo DeBo AsBo) the Design Technical Authority
- Support the UK ETCS On-board delivery team through the design approval test and commissioning activities for vehicle First in Class project
Essential
- Knowledge and or experience relating to train carried systems in particular train control systems in-cab signalling systems (ETCS CBTC)
- Previous experience in interacting with assurance bodies (AsBo NoBo DeBo &hellip )
- Previous experience in safety assurance and certification
- Demonstrates customer focus in all work carried out
- Able to understand and take account of the &lsquo big picture presented by the politics and sensitivities that surround the rail industry
- Experience of working to industry quality and safety standards
- Strong and effective communicator at all levels within the Business and in front of new and existing customers
- Highly motivated dependable and self-reliant
