Day-to-Day of the Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Support the delivery of educational programs designed specifically for students with SEMH, adapting to their individual learning needs.
  • Assist in creating a supportive and understanding classroom environment that encourages students to engage and progress.
  • Work closely with teachers to implement effective teaching strategies and behavioural management techniques.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their educational goals.
  • Participate in training and development sessions to better support the students’ diverse needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, ideally within an SEN setting.
  • A strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH and a dedicated approach to supporting their educational journeys.
  • Must possess a current DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building trust and rapport with students facing emotional and social challenges.
  • A commitment to going above and beyond in supporting the educational and personal development of students with special needs.
