Role: SEN Teaching AssistantLocation: Southampton
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £12.90 P/H
The Role:As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with students who have a range of learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their personal goals. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting individual students or small groups with their academic and personal development.
- Assisting the class teacher with the planning and delivery of lessons, tailored to meet the needs of students with SEN.
- Providing personal care and emotional support to students as required.
- Helping students to develop social and communication skills.
- Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued.
- Monitoring and recording student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for supporting students with SEN.
- Possesses patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
- Holds a relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) or experience working in an educational setting.
- Has a good understanding of a range of SEN needs, including learning, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
- Is proactive, flexible, and able to adapt to the varying needs of students.
- Works well as part of a team and is willing to contribute to the overall success of the school.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
