Peer Support Worker (Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service)

Tasks
An exciting opportunity for a Peer Support Worker post has arisen within Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service; for applicants with lived experience of mental health difficulties who are committed to developing peer support as part of the Talking Therapies Team.
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated applicants with the skills, experience, and resilience to:
- Deliver 1-2-1 peer support sessions to clients entering the service
- Support the development of volunteers with lived experience
- Integrate peer support across the wider LMWS service
Requirements
Candidates will need to:
- Have strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Have basic IT skills (typing and email).
- Be ablse to support and empower vulnerable people and volunteers
- Have lived experience of one or more of the following support needs: mental health issues, substance use, learning disability or learning difficulty autism or ADHD.
- Value the work associated to promote diversity and social inclusion.
- Be passionate about supporting people in an empowering way.
