To provide secretarial support for the Maternity Medical Secretary team, Consultants and their teams.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to provide administrative support to the Maternity Medical Secretary team in particular be responsible for the proof reading of all outsourced letters for the Maternity Consultant team.
They will provide cover for absent PA/Medical Secretaries – answering the telephone, dealing with the post and other general administrative duties. The post holder will provide an empathic and sensitive contact for patients / relatives and carers undertaking work under the direction of the Maternity Medical Secretary team.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- AMSPAR or equivalent experience
- RSA III audio typewriting or equivalent
- Medical Terminology ( RSA level) or equivalent
- GCSE English Language
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria- Good command of English Language
- Medical Terminology
- Experience in a healthcare setting
Analytical and Judgment
Essential criteria- Good organisational skills and ability to multitask
- Understands patient confidentiality
- Ability to deal with stressful and sensitive situations
