More detail about the role Our Senior Healthcare Support Workers (SHCSWs) form an essential and well-respected part of our healthcare teams across a number of dynamic settings; out in the community, in our acute hospitals or within our theatres teams to name just a few.
You will be a valued member of the team through our comprehensive training and induction programme and our commitment to learning and development will satisfy even the most ambitious person. We are looking for someone to join our small community outpatients team to assist our consultants in many different specialities.
Base site to be confirmed. The expectation is to travel between all of our Eastern community hospitals. A valid driving licence is essential for this role. Our sites include, Tiverton, Crediton, Okehampton, Exmouth, Whipton, Ottery St Mary, Honiton, Axminster, Seaton, Budleigh, Sidmouth.
We are a constantly growing service at all hospital sites, we provide professional care of all our patients from the start to the end of their outpatient appointments. We risk asses all of our patients and provide them with effective care tailored made to their individual needs.
We are proud of the service we provide, and welcome new clinics regularly. We help with chaperoning and assisting the consultants from our most challenging ENT clinic to supporting Ultrasound we cover a very wide range of clinics. We see the patients before the consultants and provide great listening skills and show compassion.
Some skills involved are, blood pressures, ECGs, phlebotomy, weight and height plus other skills learnt on the job. We work closely with other members of our multi-disciplinary team including the consultants physiotherapists and other services.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Healthcare Support Worker with relevant qualifications and experience to join our community outpatient team, with a great opportunity to learn new skills. We do a lot of lone working, previous experience with this is desirable.

We do not work weekends or Bank holidays.
