Interim Service Manager - PFI Contracts and Commissioning - Local Authority

• Daily Rate: up to £493 via umbrella
• Location: South Yorkshire
• Job Type: Interim

The successful candidate will play a strategic role in ensuring the schools are fit for both immediate and long-term educational and community activities.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Indirect responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Schools PFI scheme.
• Liaise with strategic governance bodies including the Department for Education (DfE), Academies, and the Council’s Children and Young Person Services (CYPS).
• Ensure the schools are strategically managed to be fit for purpose for both immediate and future needs.
• Maintain strong connections with a range of in-house services acting as contractors to the scheme, ensuring quality and monitored outputs.
• Support the Assistant Director Property and Facilities Services in reviewing the governance of the contract.
• Collaborate with both internal and external legal colleagues to ensure the contract is managed, monitored, and controlled effectively.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in managing complex contracts, preferably within a public sector or educational environment.
• Strong understanding of governance and strategic management in public sector contracts.
• Ability to work effectively with various stakeholders including government departments, legal teams, and in-house services.
• Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
