About the role:

The British Museum is seeking an experienced Learning Manager to lead the creation, development, and delivery of a diverse range of programs for schools, families, and young audiences. You will be joining a dedicated learning team providing inclusive, immersive, and inspiring engagement programs for over 475,000 UK and international students and over 3 million multi-generational family visitors each year.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Program Development: Design and deliver inclusive programs for multi-generational families and young people (ages 13-17).
  • Project Management: Oversee the timely development of large-scale events and projects, ensuring they meet budget and quality standards.
  • Collaborative Work: Partner with internal and external stakeholders to create engaging exhibition-related programs.
  • Evaluation: Implement evaluation mechanisms to assess the effectiveness of learning offerings.
  • Team Support: Provide support for SYA colleagues, including facilitating school groups and attending key stakeholder meetings.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relationships with external stakeholders relevant to schools and young audiences.

About you:

You will have relevant experience in a cultural learning setting or similar role with proven ability to develop and deliver creative programs for diverse learning audiences. To excel in this role, you will need strong project management and organisational skills alongside excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

In addition, you will have experience of working with audiences from disadvantaged backgrounds and have a working knowledge of safeguarding children as well as current national curriculum trends. You'll also be competent in using Microsoft Office 365 and cloud-based applications.
