This role sits within our Private Sector FM business division that provides catering, cleaning, hard services, pest control, and security services to a wide range of prestigious clients, within the Business & Industry market.
About The Role:Here at OCS, we have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Gas engineer to join our inhouse maintenance team at the GKN Filton/ Bristol sites, working along side our electrical and fabric engineers to support the client in the maintenance of the aerospace manufacturing facility, so experience of working in the high value low volume manufacturing sector would be an advantage.
This is a full time role work 40 hours per week plus overtime with a on call rota of 1 week in 4 for which you will be paid a standby fee, your primary duties will be the maintenance and servicing of the sites heating system which are a mixture of indirect wet systems and direct fired warm air heaters so qualifications and experience of working on these systems is essential, for time to time you may be required to assist the other engineers in the completion of pre-planned maintenance and reactive works.
As a senior member of the engineering team, you may also be required to support the management team with the escorting a s supervision of sub-contractors on the secure site
As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Planning, inspecting, and carrying out repairs or preventative maintenance as required and responding to breakdowns on the sites heating system completing paperwork to a high standard to ensure we comply with statutory legislation
- Respond to reactive breakdowns and complete repairs to ensure the continuous operation of the site
- Assist the team with completion of statutory inspection of assets including Emergency Lighting, Water Temperature checks, Fire Door inspection
- Being an ambassador for the customer; dealing professionally with complaints and queries
- Supervising engineer sub-contractors upon attending site.
- Providing technical guidance to the client and management team and contract support
- Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with agreed specifications and in line with Health & Safety legislation.
- Up-keeping of site documentation
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
- You must have the right to work in the UK
- You must hold commercial gas qualifications with in date tickets after your probation OCS will fund any recertification if and when required
- NVQ 3 or relevant higher-level qualification in Heating and Ventilation Engineering or Plumbing
- Legionella control qualification would be desirable
- Must be IT literate to a good standard using Microsoft Word, Excel and a CAFM system
- Understanding of planned preventative maintenance regimes
- Experience of completing risk assessments and method statements; along with issuing permit to work for hard service tasks
- Experience using BMS system.
- Knowledge of maintenance schedules and SFG 20 would be desirable
- Ability to record work accurately on work sheets and computer-based systems
- Must hold a full UK driving license as use of company vehicle may be require
