Our Customs department is a busy and exciting area responsible for classifying products and applying relevant import requirements. Customs is a fantastic place where you can build a successful and fulfilling career at Lidl GB with lots of progression and development opportunities.
As a Customs Administrator you will be a problem solver, logical and passionate about the details. In-depth training will be given and there will also be the opportunity to gain accredited certifications up to Postgraduate level.

**What youll do**- Collecting detailed information from various sources to enable your classification
- Accurate data entry
- Performing and reviewing the classification and record the basis for your classification decision
- Investigating trade agreements, import requirements and prohibitions & restrictions relating to the classified products, and support the buying and international teams to determine whether the products meet the qualifying requirements
- Improving and maintaining our classification log built from various internal data sources
- Creating process flow charts and info guides for team members and business stakeholders
- Communication with external and internal stakeholders
- Transferring technical Customs knowledge to the operational business
- Prior experience in the Customs landscape is highly desirable
- An understanding of Import and Export Customs procedures
- Working Customs knowledge and experience of the UK Tariff Schedule and the application of the General Rules of Interpretation (GIR) and Explanatory Notes is highly beneficial
- An aptitude to work with data
- A logical mindset and an enthusiastic problem solver
- Proficient working knowledge of Excel
- Good communication skills and ability to adapt language when necessary
- Teamwork and collaboration skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to use their own initiative
- Highly focused and accurate with an uncompromising eye for detail
- German language skills advantageous but not essential
