The Pointer School is an Independent Christian Prep and pre-Prep school in Blackheath, Southeast London with a reputation for providing outstanding pastoral care and a loving family atmosphere for our pupils. We are seeking an inspirational, dedicated, and passionate teacher to join our thriving school as a teacher of Coding & STEM to all pupils in the school, from Nursery to Year 6.

The successful candidate will have a degree in computer science, computing or another science subject, and experience working with children. We have a strong collegiate atmosphere, and the successful teacher will become a key part of the continuation of this.

Our pupils leave us after Year 6 to attend the very best schools in London and the right candidate will be able to guide pupils towards this. All teachers are expected to contribute to the co-curricular life of the school.

This position is from September 2025 and is a part-time role, for 3 or 4 days per week.

Salary: The Pointer School Pay Scale (pro-rated for part time role)

All new staff will be subject to enhanced DBS clearance, identity checks, qualification checks and employment checks to include an exploration of any gaps within employment, two satisfactory references and registration with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Please note that the school performs online checks on shortlisted candidates prior to interview in line with statutory requirements as set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE). You must have the right to work in the UK, hold or be willing to obtain a valid DBS and be at least 18 years old.
