This role is to work in our third line support team providing escalation support and maintenance on our network and load balancing environments. The applicant will be experienced in network technology including but not limited to routing and switching, firewall security, certificate services, Citrix Netscaler/ADC and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops technology.They will support existing staff with any escalation support working both directly with end users and supporting ICT colleagues, as well as performing routine maintenance and monitoring the environments. The candidate will be confident to take the lead on certain solutions.
The team operates a hybrid working pattern which involves a blend of remote and on site working at University Hospital Coventry and other Trust locations as required by organisational demands.
Main duties of the job- Use ITIL principles to record, manage and monitor the progress of all jobs, incidents and changes to their resolution, including invoking escalation procedures where appropriate and keeping users and other relevant staff informed of progress
- Make a positive contribution to Customer Relationship Management by ensuring that customers and other relevant staff are notified in a timely and professional manner of updates and changes made which affect the operation of specific ICT services.
- Use ITIL principles to manage assets, stock and consumables to provide a 24/7 service and produce management reports as required
- Manage the successful planning, development and implementation of designated network, security and Citrix projects that impact the Trust against agreed project plans to time and within constraints, using PRINCE 2 methodologies
- Take day-to-day responsibility for specific development work on our ICT systems liaising with associated and related ICT and project teams, taking full account of user requirements and business objectives.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities- Skilled in the development and management of technologies such as secure software defined wired and wireless networks, firewalls, cloud networking, Citrix Netscaler load balancer and gateway technology and Citrix Virtual apps and desktops.
- Produce and maintain documentation required for the lifecycle of on-going and new systems including the production of policies and procedures
- Participate in system procurements, including drafting of procurement documentation and supplier evaluations
- Develop and maintain strong communications links with key stakeholders conveying complex issues and negotiating desired outcomes
- Liaise with other ICT Services staff, as required, to ensure the overall integrity and smooth running of the service. Work flexibly as a member of the ICT Service Delivery team to ensure the Department delivers a high-quality customer focused service
- Liaise with counterparts in other Trusts, health communities and elsewhere to assist in the provision of ICT services where patient care is delivered across multiple locations and agencies
- Identify the impact and support the operational change management resulting from the updating of existing and implementation of new IT systems across the Trust
- Conduct technical IT based investigations and impact assessments on supplier products, statement of works and implementation plans
- Manage supplier relationships by establishing robust communications channels with suppliers to ensure timely product delivery and fitness for purpose
- Participate in and play a lead role as required in local/ regional and national implementation forums to ensure the spread of best practice
