An opportunity has arisen for a Receptionist Administrator to join our Community Mental Health Admin Team within the Yewcroft CMHT based at The Barberry Centre. . The successful applicant will provide an efficient and confidential administration service for the Multi-disciplinary Team working within an admin team.

Applicants should have relevant qualifications as per attached person specification. The applicant must be well organised and able to work to deadlines and targets and on their own initiative.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be a focal point for patients and visitors attending Yewcroft Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) for out-patients appointments and answering calls for the team. The post holder will also spend part of their week dealing with the CMHT admin in-box dealing with queries, requests for changes and sending out appointment letters

Working as a team player, you will need to be highly motivated, flexible and enthusiastic with excellent organisational, communication and IT skills. You will need to meet deadlines and be able to work under pressure. You must have the ability to manage your time effectively in order to meet the needs of the service.

The post holder will be expected to have a caring, professional and empathic approach, whilst also maintaining boundaries and confidentiality

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Business admin level 2 or equivalent
  • English GCSE grade 4 or equivalent
  • Maths GCSE grade 4 or equivalent
  • RSA II
Desirable criteria
  • RSA Typing III

Knowledge and experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of dealing with sensitive/distressing issues.
  • Significant secretarial experience preferably within a medical background.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in health care setting
  • Experience of working within a fast-paced environment.

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to take minutes.
  • Aptitude for ICT.
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to communicate at all levels.

Please note, if applicable for your role you will be required to cover the cost of your DBS certificate. This will be deducted from your salary over 3 months. You will also be required to sign up to the DBS Update Service before commencement with the Trust.

All successful applicants will be required to complete the Trust’s induction programme. The Fundamental (Statutory and Mandatory) training will be in an e-learning format. You will be required to complete training modules online (approx. 9-14 hours depending on post) by the end of your first week with us.
