Database Administrator - Active DV clearance Required
Duration: 6 months rolling
Clearance level: DV level and no opportunity for sponsorship on this occasion.
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
They require someone to serve as an SME of Databases and provide assistance to production lifecycle teams: development, infrastructure, testing and production. This may require occasional travel to sites nationwide and working out of hours and be on-call.
Key Qualifications- Monitor, maintain and tune databases to optimise availability of server as well as troubleshooting performance.
- Create suitable Database alerts and proactively monitor, respond, action to alerts
- Troubleshot performance and connection issues.
- Build environments based on standards and best practices that would align to operational and business requirements.
- Monitor database maintenance scripts for backups, index rebuild/ defragment, and database statistics.
- Produce, maintain, and ensure backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly.
- Experienced in database technologies and a good understanding of SQL development and scripting tools.
- Experienced in database administration, including back-ups, maintenance, performance monitoring and troubleshooting
- Experienced in implementing high availability setups such as Always on HA, Mirroring, log shipping and Microsoft Clustering.
- Hold excellent knowledge of the Microsoft SQL Server Stack - SSMS, SSAS, SSIS & SSRS.
- Able to work to tight deadlines and changing priorities.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server internals and core database functionality (indexes, schemas, triggers, etc.)
- Have a good understanding of database architecture and database design.
