Main duties of the job
Are you a Student Nurse currently studying BSC Adult Nursing in the UK?
We are recruiting student nurses to work as Bank Healthcare Support Workers (HCSW) in order for them to gain valuable knowledge and experience whilst they are studying for their nursing degree. You will be working with and supporting qualified nursing staff to provide high standards of dignified care to all of our patients every day across all our sites.
You Must:
- Be currently studying at university toward a degree in Adult Nursing in the UK.
- Have completed at least one placement in an acute hospital setting (or previous HCSW experience in a hospital could be considered)
- Be committed to delivering high standards of dignified patient care
- Be highly motivated & able to demonstrate excellent communication skills
- Be enthusiastic and passionate about providing the best possible care for clients

Qualifications
Essential criteria- Studying BSC Adult Nursing in the UK
Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria- Completed at least one placement in a hospital setting (or sufficient HCSW experience in a hospital setting)
- An understanding around basic patient care
- Understanding of the importance of the promotion of health and well-being
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience working as a healthcare support worker for a minimum of either one year in a UK nursing home or six months in an NHS acute hospital environment
Technical Skills, Competencies
Essential criteria- Understanding of basic physiology e.g. normal vital signs, fluid balance, nutritional requirements etc.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (to understand and be understood)
- Ability to follow clear instruction and feed back to senior staff
- Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on own initiative.
- IT literate
- Experience of basic nursing care (including personal hygiene needs, dietary/nutrition requirements and manual handling assistance.
Language Requirement
Essential criteria- Able to speak English as necessary to undertake the role
