Sheridan Maine is excited to partner exclusively with a leading business to recruit for an Accounts Assistant with a strong commercial awareness to assist with the smooth day to day running of the finance department.

About the Role:

We are seeking an individual who is currently studying or interested in pursuing an AAT qualification. You will work closely with the Finance Manager in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. This role will involve taking ownership of both the purchase and sales ledger functions, alongside monthly transactional processing and reconciliation tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the company’s purchase and sales ledgers
  • Ensure timely resolution of invoices, statements, and queries
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Conduct supplier statement reconciliations
  • Maintain daily cashflow records
  • Oversee credit control processes
  • Process expense requests and invoices
  • Raise sales ledger invoices
  • Assist with VAT returns

Skills and experience you’ll need to apply:

  • Enthusiastic and keen to learn with some experience gained in a similar role
  • Great communication skills and a "can do" attitude
  • Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
