1:1 Teaching Assistant

First Class Supply are working with a school in Newcastle who is looking to appoint a full-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant, the post holder will support a child in Year 3 who is working at Early Years levels. This role requires a committed, empathetic, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who has experience working with Children with additional needs.

• Working with the pupil directly on curriculum related tasks under the direction of the teacher
• Providing support for the pupil inside and outside the classroom environment to enable them to fully participate in activities
• Assisting in the implementation of Individual EHCP and help monitor their progress
• Giving relevant feedback to the teacher regarding the need of the pupils therefore offering the teacher support in their assessment
• There are elements of personal care involved in this role

Successful applicants will:

• Have experience of working with children within an education setting
• Hold a full and relevant level 2 or equivalent qualification in a relevant child care discipline
• Have the ability to motivate and engage children
• Be pro-active, enthusiastic, energetic and reliable
• Have a minimum of 6 months recent experience within a UK setting
