Manchester - Teaching Assistant
A primary school in Milnrow has come directly to Teaching Personnel as they are looking for a caring, proactive, and committed Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.
About the Role:As a Year 1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support the learning and development of children in their first year of Key Stage 1. You will provide one-on-one support for pupils, assist in small group work, and help create a stimulating learning environment.
Your role will be essential in helping children settle into their school routine and develop the skills they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the Year 1 teacher in planning, delivering, and assessing lessons.
- Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning and provide targeted support.
- Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Support children with a range of learning needs, including those with additional needs or English as an additional language.
- Help with classroom management and ensure a positive learning atmosphere.
- Foster good relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to support the overall development of the class.
About You:
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a primary school setting.
- A positive and proactive attitude with a passion for helping children succeed.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support children’s learning and well-being.
- A commitment to creating an inclusive and nurturing environment for all students.
- A Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
