Switchboard Operator/Porter Helpdesk Operator 37.5 Hours- PermanentThis role is a fantastic opportunity to join the Switchboard team as a Portering Helpdesk Support Officer.
The Facilities team drives services to support the Trust running services such as car parking, portering, domestics, Catering and much more.
This is an exciting and challenging role in a dynamic, high paced, friendly and supportive team. You will be working in a fast-paced environment. You will provide good communication skills when dealing with wards, departments and colleagues and maintaining confidentiality at all times including when communicating via Radio.
With this in mind you will have a value base compatible with our work and a passion for improving health and wellbeing outcomes for the population of Tameside. You will be highly organised, motivated, self-disciplined and a real team player.
- Taking calls from wards and departments to book porters for various jobs including, patient moves, blood samples, ADHOC requests, asset moves and much more.
- Logging jobs from all calls.
- Using the radio to communicate with the portering staff to carry out required task and the porters reporting back when jobs are completed to assign next job.
- Ensuring when relaying tasks over the radio to porters that confidentiality is maintained at all times.
- Supporting with taxi call requests.
- Cross cover within the switchboard team to ensure seamless communication across the Facilities division.
