Financial Modelling Analyst

Salary: £39,355 - £45,413 depending on experience

We’re looking to hire a Financial Modelling Analyst to join the team for a 1 year fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This position plays a critical role in supporting strategic decision-making and enhancing transparency in financial reporting within the LSTM group.As part of the Financial Planning and Reporting team, you will posses strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of financial principles, and proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
Key responsibilities will include:
Financial modelling:
Develop and maintain complex financial models to support budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning initiatives within LSTM group.Collect, organise and analyse financial data to inform model development and provide insights to stakeholders.
Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to evaluate the potential impact of different variables on financial outcomes to inform decision-making processes.
Ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial models through rigorous testing and validation procedures.
Update and maintain financial models to reflect changes in business conditions, market dynamics or regulatory requirements.
Report development:
Design and develop visually appealing and informative reports, dashboards and presentations to communicate financial and operational performance.Extract data from various sources such as databases, spreadsheets, and enterprise systems, and integrate it into reporting tools.
Tailor reports to meet the specific needs and preferences of stakeholders, including committees and department heads.
Automate report generation and distribution to streamline reporting workflows and improve efficiency.
Business partnering:
Develop and maintain first class working relationships with stakeholders, fostering a culture of collaboration, partnership and mutual support
Training/facilitation:
Stay up to date on industry trends, best practices and technological advancements in financial modelling and reporting to enhance departmental capabilities and efficiency.
The ideal candidate will bring the following:
Experience and proficiency in financial modelling techniques including forecasting, sensitivity analysis, scenario modelling using Microsoft Excel or specialised financial modelling softwareStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively
Strong data analysis and reporting skills
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI or similar would be beneficial, but this is not essential
Experience with regional databases and SQL queries would also be desirable
