We are seeking an outstanding English teacher to join the School of English, Languages and Classics. The successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant subject area and a proven track record of delivering A Level English to a high standard.

They will also be able to design and deliver creative and impactful lessons and take a student-centred approach to learning.

It would be desirable to have the expertise and flexibility to teach across the different A Level English courses and we would be particularly interested in someone with a background in English Language. Most A Level teachers within our department also teach some GCSE English Language re-sit classes.

As the Curriculum Improvement Team Leader for A Level English Combined, the successful candidate will ensure planning documentation is completed to a high standard and lead rigorous reviews of quality, including those relating to student voice, and ensure swift interventions where necessary.

In addition, they will work closely with the rest of the English team in order to drive forward best practice.
