Teacher of Design Technology
What skills and experience we're looking for
As a popular and successful school, with a growing Sixth Form we are always excited to strengthen our staffing team with an early career or experienced teacher. The post will involve the teaching of design technology to age ranges personalised to the strengths of the individual teacher, this could include Sixth Form teaching.As well as our popular GCSE Design Technology, Food Nutrition and A Level Product Design courses we offer Level 1 & 2 Engineering Design, Level 3 Engineering and a Level 3 Food course. We also have a specialist STEM pathway for students in Years 7, 8 and 9.The post will involve teaching courses to match the strengths of the successful candidate.
Therefore, we are looking to employ a well qualified teacher with a record of delivering high quality lessons with excellent student outcomes, or a recently qualified teacher.
What the school offers its staff
In September 2015 the school moved into an award-winning new building, where subjects are taught in specialist rooms either in our Sixth Form block or within the suite of technology classrooms. The team is very supportive and expectations for students are high.iPads for every member of staff and all Sixth Form students have been provided since September 2024 and have further enhanced our excellent teaching and collaboration, while also providing new ways to manage feedback and assessment.
