Holme Grange is a successful, traditional Independent School with a real soul. We aim to stimulate intellectual curiosity and encourage pupils to embrace challenge. We have high expectations, setting high standards for ourselves and our pupils.

Pastoral care is the responsibility of every member of staff and is one of the many strengths of the School.

We have an opportunity for a motivated, friendly and approachable Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) to work across the school but primarily with our older age groups. This is a full-time post and we are looking for talented members of staff who:

  • work or have worked as an ELSA and who work or have worked with older children and young people;
  • are passionate about supporting the teaching and learning of young people;
  • have the desire to ensure that all children secure the highest possible levels of progress and attainment;
  • understand and support the importance of physical and emotional wellbeing;
  • understand principles of child development;
  • have the ability to work creatively and sensitively with children;
  • are able to relate well to and communicate well with children and adults;
  • are flexible and have the ability to use initiative;
  • have a friendly and caring manner;
  • bring enthusiasm and energy to the role.

Having very successfully extended our School’s excellent provision to teach to GCSE in September 2015, the School is thriving and we have waiting lists in most year groups. Our Early Years Department have won the ISA Early Years Award for Excellence and Innovation in Provision.

We have innovative, forward thinking staff with an understanding of how children learn and continue to learn ourselves. We offer a delightful working environment which is well resourced.

Holme Grange is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Applicants for all jobs will undergo appropriate child-protection screening including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to enhanced level.

A Prohibition Check is also carried out. Holme Grange School is an equal opportunities employer.
