Are you seeking a rewarding and distinctive role where no two days are the same?

Do you have experience working with children or adults who have significant needs or behavioural challenges? If so, we would love to hear from you!

The Role

A thriving and oversubscribed primary school in Everton is looking to appoint a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The child requires substantial support for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), with a particular focus on Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

In this role, you will work closely with teaching staff and senior leaders to implement personalised support strategies. Your responsibilities will include working with the pupil in both classroom and alternative settings around the school. Occasionally, you may also be required to assist other pupils with additional needs.

Collaboration with the class teacher and the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) will be key to identifying the pupil’s specific requirements, overcoming barriers to learning, and tracking their academic and personal progress.

Previous experience supporting a pupil with an EHCP on a 1:1 basis is desirable. However, we also welcome applications from individuals with relevant experience in supporting children or adults with complex needs.

The School

Situated in a well-connected area of Everton, this school has developed a strong community ethos grounded in Christian values and a dedication to positive change. Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, the school offers a rich and dynamic curriculum enhanced by a wide range of extracurricular activities, including wellbeing initiatives and after-school clubs.

The school is proud of its inclusive and supportive environment, which encourages both pupils and staff to flourish. As a larger-than-average primary, it offers excellent scope for professional development and long-term career progression.
