PIP2 Police Staff Investigator - Operation Warden
A law enforcement organisation based in Greater Manchester is seeking a number of PIP2 Accredited Police Staff Investigators to support Operation Warden, a high-profile initiative focused on the investigation of antisemitic and other priority hate crime offences.
This is a critical opportunity to contribute to safeguarding communities and delivering a robust, victim-focused investigative response during periods of heightened demand linked to key events and community tensions.
You will be responsible for managing investigations to a PIP2 standard, including complex and sensitive cases, working closely with specialist policing teams and partner agencies.
This is an initial 12-month contract with possibility for extension, the hourly rate is £20.84 + holiday and benefits via Reed PAYE (Umbrella rates also available). The role is office based in Ashton-Under-Lyme.
Key Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end investigations into hate crime offences to PIP2 standard
- Conduct victim and witness engagement, ensuring appropriate safeguarding and support
- Gather, assess, and develop evidential material, including digital and forensic evidence
- Build high-quality case files and work collaboratively with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS)
- Conduct interviews in line with best practice and relevant investigative frameworks
- Work alongside Neighbourhood Policing Teams, Investigation Teams, and Warden teams to ensure a consistent investigative approach
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with disclosure and criminal justice requirements
- Contribute to intelligence-led policing and support proactive investigations where required
- PIP2 accreditation (essential)
- Proven experience managing serious and complex investigations
- Strong knowledge of criminal justice procedures and case file preparation
- Experience of working with vulnerable victims and sensitive case types
- Ability to handle high workload volumes in a fast-paced operational environment
- Skilled in evidence gathering, including digital/telecommunications (desirable)
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams
