The Performing Arts Department at St. Bede’s College currently consists of three full-time Teachers and a Technician who are all passionate about Drama, Dance and Music and work together with warmth and enthusiasm. The Department has two dedicated studios and each classroom is fitted with an interactive touch panel board.The department runs well-attended co-curricular clubs in dance, orchestra, choir, College musical rehearsals and Shakespeare rehearsals for our annual summer Shakespeare show. This year we are nominated for ‘Best Musical’ at the National School Theatre Awards and will be performing at the event in June in London on Drury Lane.
We attend theatre performances in Manchester at least twice per term, to enrich our students and engage them in classic and contemporary theatre.
