ICT Project Manager
The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services from King’s College Hospital (KCH) sites at Denmark Hill in Camberwell and at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in the London Borough of Bromley.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Senior Project Manager, with experience of successful implementations of digital solutions through the project lifecycle.

The postholder will also contribute towards the delivery of infrastructure programme for the trust, which entails a range of projects related to cybersecurity, networks and end-user devices.
Main duties of the job
The role as an ICT senior project manager is to work autonomously to ensure that ICT projects are delivered, on time, on cost and within the agreed quality requirements.
ICT project managers within the Apollo programme in KCH are able to liaise, gather and influence a wide range of stakeholders of various levels of seniority: from procurement specialists, to nurses, doctors, service managers and other ICT colleagues within the department.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You will engage with a broad spectrum of users across the Trust and with external agencies, and work as part of the Project Management Team, liaising closely with other teams in the Apollo programme, the KCH ICT department and others across the health economy.The project manager develops and maintains key corporate systems as well as implements innovations and delivers ICT solutions that translate into tangible clinical benefit for patients.
Significant Project Management experience, application of PRINCE 2 (or equivalent methodology), assertiveness, ability to work with senior staff members, strong influencing skills, excellent communication skills in both written and oral media and a demonstrable record of successful implementation to time and budget are essentials for the role.
You will have a mixed of experiences of having worked in a healthcare related organisation as well as having dealt with technology projects and their stakeholders. As such, you will be a self-started with the ability and skills to bring people together in an organised manner.You will be keen to progressively take on more difficult projects.
This is an exciting and challenging role and you will make a vital contribution to the Trust’s continued delivery of its ICT strategy.

Essential criteria- Degree or equivalent qualification
- Master’s Degree or equivalent Postgraduate qualification
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria- Thorough understanding of the Major corporate IT systems
- Thorough understanding of the Major clinical systems used in Acute Trusts and the Local Health economy
- Extensive experience of managing medium/large scale projects in complex and multi-disciplinary environments from initial design to completion including all stages from project design, specification of requirements, preparation of business case, procurement, preparation and application of evaluation methodologies through to system implementation, process redesign & implementation and post-project review.
- Expertise in understanding operational excellence and process design concepts
- Skilled contract negotiator and experience of contract management to secure best value for money
